ANN LENNEY WASHINGTON, D.C., and BANGOR – Ann Lenney, 62, died Sept. 2, 2008, in Washington, D.C., after a long battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 22, 1946, in Boston, the daughter of James Francis and Sara Ann (Gates) Lenney. Ann was a graduate of University of California at Los Angeles. She received advanced training in her fields of expertise in both England and the U.S. Ann had successful careers in inpainting and painting restoration, graphic design and editing. She was an avid reader and a lover of travel, theater and the cinema. Ann belonged to British Embassy Players, Washington, D.C., and performed in some of their theatrical productions. She was a skilled artist and calligrapher. Ann was a gentle, sweet person with an excellent sense of humor and a lively mind. She was a wonderful sister, daughter and beloved friend. She is survived by her sister, Ellen Lenney of Bangor; and her stepmother, Ruth K. Lenney of Honolulu. She was predeceased by both her parents. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to meet 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Superintendents Lodge, State Street entrance.
