HAROLD L. FURROW SR. STETSON and BREWER Harold L. Furrow Sr., 77, died Sept. 4, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. He was born June 11, 1931, in Thorndike, the son of Donald and Eva Furrow. Harold graduated from Nokomis High School, June 5, 2008. He loved racing and his family, including 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He loved taking vacations with his wife, Gloria; they enjoyed the ponies and going to church. Harold served in the Korean War and received a service medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the Presidential Unit Citation R.O.K. DAGD 23 1954 2, April, 53, and National Defense Service Medal United States, Nation Service Medal. He served for three years. Harold is survived by three daughters, Robin and her husband, Gary, of Brewer, Sharon and her husband, Denis, of Etna and Debbie and her husband, J.R., of Veazie; four sons, Harold Jr. of Dixmont, Peter and his wife, Brenda, of Dixmont, and Bruce and Jay of Newburgh; one sister, Stella Lester of Burham; several nieces and nephews; and one special uncle, James Day of Havelock, N.C. Harold was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Gloria. Those wishing to remember Harold may make donations in his name to Ronald McDonald House of Bangor, 654 State St., Bangor, ME 04401. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Clark’s Hill Cemetery, Stetson Road, Stetson. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.
