PRESQUE ISLE — Jarryd Phillips had two goals to help push the University of Maine at Fort Kent to a 6-0 mens soccer victory over Thomas College of Waterville in the UM-Presque Isle Tournament Friday.

Andre Anderson scored a goal and provided three assists for 1-0 UM-Fort Kent. Keith Anderson had a goal and an assist as Damion Stone and Henley Comrie added goals. Giovanni Sinclair blocked two of nine shots to earn the shutout.

Anthoyn Wheeler and Keegan Curtin combined for 15 saves on 41 shots for 1-1 Thomas.

Sacred Heart 2, Maine 1 (2OT)

At Fairfield, Conn., Matt Jones scored on a penalty kick at the 102:31 mark in the second overtime to lead Sacred Heart University past the University of Maine.

Denis Brunotte scored an unassisted goal at 43:37 in the first half to tie it up for 1-1 Sacred Heart. Matt Jones stopped two of eight shots.

Jake Ostrov scored at 31:10 in the first half off assists from Jordan Antonucci and Mike Maloney for the 1-2 Black Bears. Nemanja Kostic and Alex Pilitsis combined for four saves on 15 shots.

Womens soccer

UM-Fort Kent 7, Thomas 0

At Presque Isle, Pamela Peralta scored three goals to lift the University of Maine at Fort Kent over Thomas College of Waterville in the UM-Presque Isle Tournament.

Whitney Sinclair added two goals and one assist for the 1-0 Bengals. Brianne McGary and Emily Burnett each had a goal and an assist. Kayla Daigle stopped two of three shots.

Lindsay Gove made eight saves on 31 shots for 0-2-1 Thomas.

Guidelines for coaches

During this busy sports season, the BDN asks that managers and coaches for the home teams promptly report the games. Games can be reported starting at 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Games can not be reported on Saturday.

Coaches and managers are urged to provide details for both teams when reporting games. First names of players on both teams as well as statistics are needed. Those not providing full details for both teams run the risk of the games not being published in the paper.
