BROWNVILLE – Peter D. “Chub” Barnett Sr., 68, died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at his home. He was born June 20, 1940, in Millinocket, the son of Peter J. and Eva L. (Hamilton) Barnett Chub enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his good friends, Red McLaughlin and his family, and John Freeman and the rest of his friends on Route 11, Brownville. He is survived by five children, Dean Barnett and his wife, Diana, of Connecticut, Peter D. Barnett Jr. of Medway, Ritchie Barnett and his wife, Lynn, of Millinocket, Trina Williams of Howland and Laura Rollins and her husband, Brent, of Millinocket; 11 grandchildren, Brad, Anthony, Cory, Matt, Christopher and Nate Barnett, Shelby and Eric Verrone, Ashley and Garrett Rollins and Jeremy Tinkham; two sisters, Joyce Phelan and her husband, Joe, of Millinocket and Maxine Barnett and her companion, Carroll Gifford, of Mattawamkeag; a brother, Roger Barnett of Milo; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Chub was predeceased by three brothers, Howard, Joe and Jerry; a sister, Dolly; and the love of his life, Barbara (McLain) Barnett, the mother of his children. Friends are invited to visit with the family 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, with funeral services beginning at 3 p.m. officiated by Deacon Danny Watson.
