BELFAST, Maine — A 45-year-old Stockton Springs woman drove her 1998 Ford Windstar into the rear end of a 1981 Ford dump truck Thursday that was making a left turn into Pooler’s Garage off Route 141.

Wanda Pomeroy was carrying a full load of scrap metal inside the van when her vehicle failed to stop at 10:08 a.m. and hit the truck, driven by Kyle Skinner, 29, of Belfast, according to local police. Her husband, Steve Pomeroy, 52, was a passenger in the van.

The ambulance took the couple to Waldo County General Hospital, and they were treated for cuts and abrasions and released.

The van was demolished, according to police.

The truck, which was carrying a load of gravel, was not damaged. Skinner had no injuries.

Three police officers went to the scene.
