LINCOLN – Priscilla G. (Jipson) Hinrichs, 82, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, in Lincoln, with her family at her bedside. Priscilla will be remembered as a strong, hardworking, independent and amazingly accomplished woman. She was active in the Lincoln Congregational Church and maintained a steadfast faith, which carried her throughout her life. She met the many challenges in her life with a characteristic determination and pride which she passed on to her children, Sterling “Boody” Osgood and Tanya (Osgood) Whitney, and their families. Priscilla worked her entire life, and has left an enduring legacy of self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship. Priscilla loved to cook and for many years made her living baking and decorating cakes – creating beautiful and delicious memories for hundreds of people in the Lincoln area. At one time she owned a family grocery store, she worked in a family-owned clothing store, as well as several other grocery stores in Lincoln and she also worked and made many friends in the Sears Catalog Store, Lincoln. She owned and conscientiously maintained various rental properties in Lincoln and Milo, and will be fondly remembered by her many tenants, whom she treated like family. All her life Priscilla relished spending time outdoors, picking berries, gardening, camping, hunting and fishing, and was fortunate to have been able to enjoy these activities with a wonderful and caring partner, Stuart P. Lane, of Lincoln. She and Stuart split their time between The Narrows, Lincoln and Sun City, Ariz. They traveled together and had many good times “in the woods,” and out! Wherever she was, Priscilla kept herself busy quilting, painting, doing ceramics or taking classes – she loved to learn new things, and she used her knowledge and incredible skill to create beautiful things for her family and friends to cherish forever, along with her memory. In addition to her parents, Claude and Beatrice (Bonney) Jipson; and her first husband, Sterling M. Osgood, she was predeceased by sister and brother-in-law, Leola M. and Benjamin Tibbetts; brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Dallas Jipson; and brother-in-law, Lyndon Fogg.
