CARIBOU – Edward H. Rasely Jr., 69, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, after a long illness. He was born May 1, 1939, in Philipsburg, N.J., the son of Edward H. and Melvina (Huff) Rasely Sr. After graduating from high school, Edward enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a master sergeant. He then went to work at Northrop Aviation as an aircraft mechanic. He also worked at Colombia Forest Products and went to Northern Maine Technical College at the same time. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and camping. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and a man who truly loved his country. He is survived by his wife, Nicole (Leclerc) Rasely of Caribou; three daughters, Claudine Pufahl and her husband, Christopher, of Portsmouth, N.H., Tarah Baxley and her husband, James, of Wichita, Kan., and Charlotte Bull and her husband, Peter, of Portland; a son, Sean Rasely of Gainsville, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Kyle and Riley Pufahl, and Jacob and Skylar Baxley. He is also survived by a sister, Jean MacDonald and her husband, John, of Holden, Kan.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Melvina Rasely. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor James Morgan officiating.
