LINCOLN – Theresa M. Tibbetts, 82, passed away Sept. 14, 2008, at a Lincoln health care facility. She was born March 11, 1926, in Ashland, the daughter of James J. and Gertrude (Burby) Brasslett. Theresa was a very active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lincoln, where she served as eucharistic minister, and was a member of Daughters of Isabella for more than 40 years and Legion of Mary. In November 2007, she was featured as Daughter of the Month by Our Lady Circle No. 774. Her survivors include a son, Donald Tibbetts and his wife, Sandra, of Connecticut; two daughters, Bernadette Vars and husband, Robert, of Lincoln and Shirley Jipson and husband, Stephen Sr., of Passadumkeag; four grandchildren, Roy Vars of Jewett City, Conn., Stephen Jipson Jr. of Passadumkeag, Shelley Sides Jipson and husband, Joel, of Howland and Theresa “Terri” Tibbetts of Connecticut; four great-grandchildren, Darryn Sides, Aleisha Sides and Zachary Sides, all of Howland and Sarah Doane Jipson of Medway; two sisters, Laura Knox of Kenduskeag and Clarida Van Dine of Falmouth; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. The rosary will be said at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Myles Cyr presiding. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery.
