EDNA NICOLE DIONNE) BABIN – FORT KENT – Edna Nicole (Dionne) Babin, 60, beloved wife for 36 years to Joseph Norman Babin, died Sept. 22, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, at her residence. She was born Aug. 25, 1948, in Clair, New Brunswick, the daughter of Leo and Agnes (Nadeau) Dionne. Edna was a certified nurse’s aid for 40 years. She was a member of Ladies of St. Ann and Columbiettes, all of Fort Kent. She took care of the elderly people at home for five years, worked at Forest Hill Manor for four years and Northern Maine Medical Center for 14 years. She also took care of foster children for six years and she was a Eucharist minister for St. Louis Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Edna was predeceased by her parents; and one brother, Charles Dionne. She is survived by her husband, Norman of Fort Kent; four children, Tina Scott and her husband, Robert, Andrea Rioux and her husband, Corey, Steven Babin, and Leslie Daigle and her husband, Mike, all of Fort Kent; five brothers, Lionel Dionne of New York, Geno and his wife Milton, of New York, Leonard and his wife, Rose Marie, Leon and his wife, Ginette Dionne, and Carmel Dionne, all of Clair, New Brunswick; two sisters, Leola Ouellette and Leona Dionne, both of Clair, New Brunswick; one sister-in-law, Janice of Clair, New Brunswick; five grandchildren, Trisha Desjardins, Alex Caron, Shantelle Rioux, Devin Rioux and Elijah Rioux; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, and 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Soldier Pond. Committal services will be at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Kent.
