WILLIAM L. RUSSELL SR. – MEDWAY – William L. Russell Sr., 28, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, in Monroe, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born June 13, 1980, in Millinocket, the son of James F. and Donna L. (Mansir) Russell Sr. William was a graduate of Schenck High School, Class of 1998. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving 17 months overseas in Kuwait as part of the first deployment of soldiers. William will be sadly missed by his entire family and his many friends. His survivors include his parents of Medway; three children, Alexis Russell, William Russell Jr. and Arissa Russell; his brother, Jimmy Russell Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and their three children, Caffie, Kristin and Elizabeth; his sister, Rachel Russell; his girlfriend, Rebecca Leonard, all of Medway; grandmothers, Geneva Lee of Medway and Elvira Russell of Mattawamkeag; aunts, Elaine Cyr and her husband, Patrick, of Millinocket, and Delia Doane and her husband, Neal, of Mattawamkeag; uncles, Ronnie Mansir and his wife, Verna, of Bangor, Donald Mansir of Medway, David Russell, Wyman Russell, Roger Russell and his wife, Mary, all of Mattawamkeag, and Wayne Russell and his wife, Jill, of Brewer; a very special cousin, Laurie; more great-aunts, great uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends than can be counted, all of whom will miss him dearly. William will also be missed by the mothers of his children, Heather and April. He was predeceased by an uncle for whom he was named, William Mansir; and a cousin, Peggy Lynn Cyr. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2 Orchard St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Regginal Adams, pastor, officiating.
