LUDINGTON, Mich. – Lee Blohm Drelles passed unexpectedly and tragically from this Earth Sept. 21, 2008. He was just 19 years old, celebrating his birthday Aug. 22, 2008, and starting his sophomore year at Michigan Technological University in mechanical engineering. Lee was born in 1989 in Bangor, on his parent’s wedding anniversary. He was happy, refreshingly and fantastically happy. This joy that resonated in his voice will be a comfort to those family and friends left behind without him. Lee was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and was active in the youth group at the Community Church until it disbanded. He was a good friend, loyal and quick to forgive. He was fun, and nutty and accepting. He was strong in his sense of self. Lee is survived by his parents, Paul and Laura Drelles; sister, Megan Drelles Ditty and her husband, Aaron Ditty; grandparents, Leo and Nancy Drelles, and Peggy Jensen and Gerry Nehra; his aunts and uncles, Lucia Blohm, Autumn Blohm, Monique Drelles, Bryan Drelles, Debbie and Rick Anderson, and Steve and Lori Drelles; cousins, Jeremy and Michelle Anderson with their children, Leo and Ava, Jasmine Anderson, Rachael Drelles, Tyler Drelles, Jacob Drelles and Caleb Blohm. Lee was predeceased by his grandfather, Roger Lee Blohm, who is welcoming him in his arms. Funeral services for Lee will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3060 West U.S. 10, Ludington, Mich., with Pastor Gregg DeMey officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, and 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday. A luncheon will be held after the funeral service Saturday at Summit Township Park, Ludington, Mich. Memorial contributions may be made to the funds designated for building the new community tennis courts in Ludington, Mich., which will be commemorated by a plaque on site.
