EASTPORT – Ada Mae Townsend, 82, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Eastport Memorial Nursing Home, with her family by her side. Ada was born Feb. 6, 1925, in Brooks, daughter of the late Millard and Bertha (Ryan) Gibbs. She was a member of North Baptist Bible Church, Eastport, enjoyed playing bingo, picking blackberries and crocheting. In addition her parents, Ada was predeceased by a daughter, Helen Hubbard; five brothers, Harold, Eddie, Ervin, Marshall and Freeman Gibbs; and five sisters, Francis Jameson, Shirley Tibbetts, Mavis Ben-nett, Isabelle Gibbs and Emma Gibbs. Surviving are six children, Roger and Kay Penney of Winslow, Alton Penney of Vasselboro, Dale Penney of Vasselboro, Linda Bucklan of Bangor, Andrea Curtis of Robbin-ston, and Sandra Seeley and husband, Junior, of Eastport; two sisters, Glenice McIntyre of Searsport, and Marian Veino and husband, Vernon, of Newburgh; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Mays Funeral Home – Flagg Chapel, 72 High St., Eastport. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Sheldon Keezer officiating. Burial will be after at Hillside Cemetery.
