WINTERPORT – Adrian Leroy Hallett, 63, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at his home in Winterport, from natural causes. He was born May 21, 1942, in Bath, the son of Robert and Minnie (Sabine) Hallett. Adrian served as a private in the U.S. Army in 1961 and 1962 and was honorably discharged. He was a longtime resident of Winterport and worked most of his life as an auto body mechanic. Adrian loved music and in his youth enjoyed playing guitar in several well-known area rock bands during the 1960’s and 1970’s, including the Del-Tones and the Shevelles. The Del-Tones played at area high school dances, on the Curley O’Brien TV Show, Dick Curless TV Show, and was an opening act for Dick Curless. He was also an avid collector of frogs and enjoyed the Maine wilderness. Surviving are two brothers, Gary and Ronald Hallett; two sisters, Judy Adams and Ellen Bowley; his children, Randolph, Karen, Michelle, Gary, Maya, Daniel and his adopted son, Walter; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and grandchildren whom he loved dearly including, Aunt Phyllis, Aunt Beverly, Uncle Herman; and his nephew, Tom Adams. He was predeceased by his birth mother, Minnie Browning; his father, Robert Hallett; and his stepmother, Elizabeth Hallett. Arrangements are by the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
