MILLINOCKET – Agatha M. Preble, 71, died peacefully at home Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 11, 1935, in Millinocket, the daughter of John and Ina (Chase) Kelly. She was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1952. On Jan. 22, 1953, Agatha married Bill Preble. Agatha was a beloved wife and mother, making her life-long home in Millinocket. After raising her family, she worked at Northeast Bank and Ames department store. She made beautiful quilts and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Agatha spent many happy times with her family at the family camp. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. “Bill” Preble Sr. of Millinocket; their children, Ken and wife, Brenda, of Millinocket, David and wife, Betsy, of Bangor, Ron and companion, Jean, of Millinocket, Jan and husband, Mark, of Lincoln, Susan and husband, Robert, of Skowhegan and Nancy and husband, Peter, of Augusta; her grandchildren, Kendra, Kenny and fiance, Mandy, Kamie and husband, Jason, Matthew, Steven, Michael, Christine, Elizabeth, Mitchell, Kate and Lindsay; three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Cooper and MaKenna; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carolyn Metzler, officiating. Spring burial will be in Millinocket Cemetery.
