VEAZIE – Alan H. Mutch, 75, died Feb. 21, 2004, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born May 11, 1928, in Bangor, the son of Herman and Ruth (Shorey) Mutch. Alan was a self-employed general contractor and an avid outdoorsman. He was an outstanding athlete while at Bangor High School, lettering in all three sports his senior year, 1946. Surviving are three children, James Mutch and his wife, Linda, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Melissa Lane and her husband, Lawrence, of Brewer, Allan Mutch of Veazie; three grandchildren, Kimberlee and Suzanne Mutch and Brent Lane; three great-great-grandchildren, Shyanne, Taylor and Dylan. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, with the Rev. Adam Soderberg, pastor of the East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. Spring interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Veazie. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor.
