LOWELL – Alan Robert Thurlow Sr. passed away peacefully, March 14, 2007, after a long battle with M.S.A. He passed away surrounded by family and friends at home. He was a hard worker and a friend to all. He enjoyed fishing and the company of his many friends, especially his four grandchildren. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, a lifetime member of the VFW and 82nd Airborne. He is survived by his wife, Lois; three sons, Alan Jr. and wife, Linda, Kenneth and wife, Wendy, and Michael Thurlow; four grandchildren, Alexandria, Kendra, Elijah and Kourtney Thurlow; a brother, Gordon Thurlow; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Joe Thurlow; his parents, Kenneth and Ethlyn Thurlow; and his mother-in-law, Marilyn York. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Shorey officiating.
