MILLINOCKET – Alexine L. Tinkham, 79, died at a Howland healthcare facility on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004. She was born March 23, 1924, in Millinocket, the daughter of Alex and Annie (Boutot) Landry. Alexine was a lifelong resident of Millinocket, and a graduate of Stearns High School. She was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and a 50-year plus member of the Daughters of Isabella. She volunteered at her church for the CCD program and also at St. Martin’s Harvest Teas. Alexine was a loving wife, mother, and sister who brought a lot of sunshine to many people’s lives. She was a proficient homemaker and will be remembered as a loving and caring woman. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Herbert Tinkham of Howland; two children: son, Paul and wife, Robin Tinkham of Jacksonville, Fla.; and daughter, Angela and husband, Robert Mitchell, of Levant; nine brothers, Martin Landry of California, Philip Landry of Connecticut, Patrick Landry of Millinocket, Ray Landry of Texas, Alex Landry Jr. of Texas, Edgar Landry of Millinocket, Rudy Landry of East Millinocket, Father Leroy Landry, O.M.I. of Connecticut, and Michael Landry also of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at R. L. Bouchard, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where the Daughters of Isabella will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Millinocket.
