BUCKSPORT – Algie (Kelley) Robinson, 86, died Oct. 29, 2004, at her residence in Bucksport. She was born Aug. 28, 1918, in Jonesport, the daughter of Joseph W. and Pearl H. (Higgins) Kelley. She graduated from Jonesport High School and Shaw’s Business School in Bangor. Mrs. Robinson was a substitute teacher for the Bucksport, Orland, and Searsport Schools for many years. Algie’s family hosted the first American Field Service student in Bucksport from Thailand in 1965. She was a member of the Rumery Order of Eastern Star No. 46 in Jonesport, and the Franklin St. United Methodist Church Young Women’s Group. She enjoyed Craig Pond, playing cards, and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be missed by many. Algie is survived by three daughters, Pearl Mattson and husband, Perry, of Surry, Beverly Gray of Bangor, Glee Ross and husband, Bill, of Freeport; seven grandchildren, Erik Mattson and wife, Christine, Kirsten Meader and husband, Jamie, Dr. Clay Mattson and his fianc?e Dr. Kari Carpenter, Terrell Gray and wife, Carrie, Rob Gray and wife, Cyndis, Nicole Plourde and husband, Kevin, and Shannon Ross; seven great-grandchildren, Justin, Kayla, and Tyler Gray, Trey, and Peyton Meader, and Kimberly, and Katie Mattson; brother, Maxwell Kelley of Bangor; sister, Ruby Dobbins of Jonesport; several nieces and nephews, many friends. Algie was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Preston E. Robinson on Sept. 28, 2003; two brothers, Cecil Kelley and Arthur Kelley; sister, Amy Stather; many additional family members. Interment will be in the Robinson family plot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
