ALICE B. SPRAGUE

PRESQUE ISLE – Alice B. Sprague, 86, wife of the late Merle R. Sprague, who predeceased her Jan. 22, 2004, died April 4, 2004, at a local healthcare facility. She was born April 28, 1917, in Spragueville, the daughter of Milton and Isabel (Ireland) Benson. Alice was a member of the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, where she had been a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Spragueville Extension Homemakers and the Aroostook Union Grange for many years. Surviving her is a foster son and his wife, Jessie and Noni Cote of Brewer; three grandchildren, Ann Clark, Jane Jimmo and Jeannie Hopkins; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces, Marilyn Wheeler of Presque Isle, and Nancy Gettig of Readfield; also special friends, Marjorie Leach and Zeke and Gail Wieder, all of Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Blackstone officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in her memory to the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 992, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Arrangements are in the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle.
