MEDFORD – Alice Dho Libby, left our world to be with her Lord, Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, following a brief illness. Alice was born in New Hampshire and moved as a youth with her family to southern California, where she eventually attended Fullerton College. While in California, she received awards for her service with Bank of America. After moving to Maine in 1960, she worked in various positions within the Bangor area before settling in Medford, where she began serving her community through various municipal functions. First, as the town treasurer from 1979 to 1984. She was then elected to the Board of Selectmen in 1986 and served as chairman until her death. She also routinely served her town as a representative for the Republican Conventions during that time. Alice participated recently in the Milo Garden Club and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Milo, where she became part of a loving family of friends. She was predeceased by her father, Armand Dho; her mother, Lillian Cozart and her brother, Maurice Dho. Alice will be greatly missed by her loving husband of more than 44 years, Raymond Libby of Medford; a sister, Eva Wood of El Reno, Okla.; two sons, Clifford Rhome and his wife, Deborah, of Limestone, Matthew Libby and his wife, Janelle, of Stillwater; her mother-in-law, Ruth Thomas of Saco; family member in heart, Darryl Luce; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, American Cancer Society, or a local hospice of your choice. There will be a celebration of her life 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at the First Baptist Church of Milo, followed by a reception.
