CORINNA – Alice E. Porter, 92, died Jan. 18, 2005, at a Dexter healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 10, 1912, at North Conway, N.H., a daughter of Carl and Leila (Jenness) Eastman. She graduated from the High School of Practical Arts in Roxsbury, Mass. Together with her husband, Joseph, they owned and operated Porter’s Rexall in Dexter and Corinna. Joe and Alice enjoyed canoeing and fishing and she was adept at handicrafts, especially ceramics and knitting. She was a member of the Corinna Post American Legion Auxiliary and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Cynthia Shook of Corinna, Richard and wife, Debbie Jones, of Gardiner and William and wife, Jill Jones, of Dexter; several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 1995 and several brothers and sisters. There will be no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna, with Pastor Sharon Lovejoy officiating.
