OLD TOWN – Alice M. (Comeau) Duplessis, 87, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at a Brewer nursing facility following a long illness. She was born July 1, 1917, in Old Town, daughter of the late Stanley and Regina M. (Roy) Comeau. Alice was employed as a housekeeper for The University of Maine for 25 years. She was a member and faithful communicant of Holy Family Parish in Old Town and the Daughters of Isabella. Alice always had a special love for her family especially her sisters. She enjoyed and was talented in playing bingo, knitting and crocheting. She is survived and will be sadly missed by her brother, Joseph Comeau and his wife, Beverly, of Ellsworth; two sisters, Delima R. Gardner of Old Town and Doris Fortier and her husband, Harold, of Milford; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Clifford J. Duplessis; infant daughter, Alma; sister, Madeline Comeau; five brothers, Lawrence, Arthur, Norman, Stanley Jr. and Louis. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, at Holy Family Parish in Old Town with the Rev. Normand Richard Celebrant. Friends and family are invited to the Holy Family Parish Hall immediately following the Mass for a luncheon and continued fellowship.
