PRESQUE ISLE – Alice W. Spooner, 95, died Aug. 17, 2004, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born March 12, 1909, in Presque Isle, the daughter of George and Edith (Day) Wood. She was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly in Presque Isle. Her husband of 63 years, Harry Spooner; sister, Mapley Carmichael and Goldie Spooner; three brothers, John, Floyd and Philip Wood predeceased Alice. Surviving her is a son, George Spooner and his wife, Mildred, of Presque Isle; four grandchildren, Connie Driscoll and her husband, Norman, Marcia Munson and her husband, Jeff, all of Presque Isle, Donnie Spooner and his wife, Meloney of Ludlow and Scott Spooner and his wife, Theresa of Ashland; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Kevin Kierstead and Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Crouseville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you make donations in her memory to the charity of your choice.
