ORONO – Alphonsine M. “Peggy” (Thibodeau) Hashey, 95, wife of the late George L. Hashey, died Sept. 14, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 25, 1910, in St. Leonard, N.B. Canada, the daughter of Frederick and Sophie (Tardiff) Thibodeau. She was a housemother at the University of Maine for 13 years, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Orono. She is survived by her grandchildren, Gay Ellen Dennett of Natick, Mass., Michael D. Dennett and his wife, Cathleen, of Bradenton, Fla., Michelle Baynar and her husband, Dennis, of Castle Creek, N.Y., Nicholas Hashey and his wife, Pam, of Ketchikan, Alaska, Tammy Hashey of Dover, N.H., Brett Hashey of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Jesse Nicole Baker and her husband, William, of Newport, N.H., Katy Lee Bell of Binghamton, N.Y., Melissa Harrison and her husband, Keith, of Tampa, Fla.; great-great-grandchildren, Alana Bell and Angelina Nicole Baker. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two children, Patricia Ruth (Hashey) Dennett, Nicholas H. Hashey II; her great-grandson, Orion Scott Bell; her brothers and sisters, Joseph, Lucy, Onezinie, Anna, Rose, Maggie, Emile, Emma, Carrie, Noel, Francis, Cecile, Rene and Emilia. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at Riverside Cemetery, Orono, with the Rev. Rudolph Leveille, officiating.
