WILBRAHAM, Mass. – Alta Buck, 95, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at a Springfield Nursing Home. She was born, raised and educated in Mercer, and moved to Wilbraham, Mass., in 2001. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Eva (Wade) Buck. Alta enjoyed the art of needle point, knitting Irish fisherman sweaters and other forms of handwork. She also enjoyed reading and playing bridge with her friends. Most of all, Alta cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Eli, in 1974. She was the loving mother to Harold and his wife, Midge of Cundy’s Harbor, John and his wife, Bobbyjean, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Nancy Peck and her husband, Allan, of Wilbraham. She will also be missed by her treasured grandchildren, Cindy, Linda, Steven, John, Karen and Kathy; and her loving great-grandchildren, Erin, Kelly, Tristan, Troy, Eli, Mica, Cullen, Simon and Sandra. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Dec. 6, 2003, at the Wilbraham United Church, 500 Main St., Wilbraham, Mass., with the burial at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Western Mass Chapter, 1600 East Columbus Ave., Springfield, MA 01103. The Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Road, Wilbraham, MA 01095, is in charge of all arrangements.
