SULLIVAN – Anna R. (Bean) Urann, 81, passed away unexpectedly, May 29, 2005. She was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Gouldsboro, the daughter of the late Harvard and Bridie (Sheehan) Bean. Anna graduated from Sullivan High School and attended the Washington State Normal School in Machias. She married her husband, Malcolm, and together they enjoyed hunting and fishing. They enjoyed many years with their children at a camp they built on Flander’s Pond. Through her working years, she worked at local grocery stores, Urann Nursing Home, and was a cook at Sumner High School for more than 10 years. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family which included cooking, mending, caring for her grandchildren, and – “Oh, those mince meat pies!” She is survived by her loving companion of many years, Theodore “Ted” Johnson, of Winter Harbor; daughter, Melanie McIntire and husband, Marvin, of Sullivan; grandchildren, Clifton Timothy Doughty and wife, Dawn, Debra Doughty and companion, David L. Wade, Marygean Storey and husband, Kevin, all of Sullivan, and Arthur Urann and wife, Angie, of Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Whitney, Allen, Brandon, Joshua, Ryan, Kilee, Killian, Kenna, and Keeghan; sisters, Mary Ellen Jones and husband, Wilton, of Sullivan, and Virginia Dembitsky and husband, Steve, of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm Urann, in 1962; a son, Arthur Urann in 2004; a sister, Eleanor Bean in 2001; and a very special pet, BoBo. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, June 12, 2005, at the Urann Family Cemetery, Punkinville Road, Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anna’s memory to the Ark Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 276, Cherryfield, ME 04622. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
