BAR HARBOR – Anne Catherine Doolan Feid, 83, died on Good Friday, April 14, 2006, at Birch Bay Village with her family and devoted Safe Harbor caregivers by her side. Anne was born April 27, 1922, in Providence, R.I., the daughter of John and Nora (Wall) Doolan. Anne was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Providence, R.I. She was a Registered Nurse, beginning her career working for a local physician and later working in a number of nursing homes in Rhode Island, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Anne married Paul Thomas Feid Oct. 7, 1944. He was on leave from duty as a pilot for the Army Air Force in the Philippines. They lived for 17 years in Barrington, R.I. Anne moved to Bar Harbor in 1989. An avid reader, she worked for 10 years at Sherman’s Book Store where her knowledge and love of books made her a friend to many. She served on the Mount Desert Island Housing Board. Anne was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer Parish. Anne is survived by six children, Mary Ellen Forman of Hyannis, Mass., Thomas Feid and wife, Linda Johnson, of Rye, N.H., Paula Feid of New York City, N.Y., Kathleen Feid of Lamoine, Martin Feid of Cranston, R.I. and Nancy Eddy and her husband, Stephen Eddy, of Trenton; and two sisters, Mary Ryan and Roberta Doolan of Providence, R.I. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Forman, Jesse Greene, Melissa, Michelle, Erin, Andrew and Molly Feid, Joel Feid, Jody and Carly Silk and Luke Hartson; a great-grandson, Aidan and many nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Paul in 1976; a brother, John Doolan; and sister, Helen Doolan. Anne will be sadly missed by many dear friends. A Mass of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Redeemer Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anne’s memory may be made to Holy Redeemer Church, 21 Ledgelawn Ave., Bar Harbor, ME 04609.
