CARIBOU – Annie D. Savage, 82, beloved wife of the late Martin Louis Savage, died at a Caribou hospital Oct. 8, 2004, after a brief illness. She was born at Connor Dec. 18, 1921, the daughter of O’Neil and Odelie (Cote) Dubay. Annie was a Nurse. She began her career in the 1940’s at the Presque Isle Sanitarium. She later worked at the Cary Memorial Hospital until her marriage in 1967. For many years Annie has been a devoted member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Caribou where she was a member of both the Ladies of St. Anne and the daughters of Isabella. She will be fondly remembered for her Crocheting, Knitting and other homemade crafts which she lovingly shared with family and friends. She is survived by two stepsons, Dr. Philip Savage of Bangor, and Dr. James Savage and his wife, Frances, of Caribou; two stepdaughters, Nancy (Savage) Solman of Caribou and Jane Umphrey and her husband, Richard, of Caribou; five sisters, Marie Theriault of Caribou, Rose Phillipon of Gorham, N.H., Lena Richards of Newington, Conn., Annette Bloom and her husband, Edward, of Newington, Conn., Sister, Blanche Dubay of Lake Ronkon Koma, Long Island, N.Y.; one brother, Leo Dube of Biddeford; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband May 22, 2004; and by three sisters, Ida Beaulieu, Corinna Thibodeau, Gertrude Dubay. Family and Friends may call 7-9 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10, at the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Caribou with Fr. Jean-Paul LaBrie, Pastor Officiating. Interment will be at the Old Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Caribou. In Lieu of flowers donations in Annie’s memory may be made to either the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society, New England Affiliate, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688. Envelopes will be available at both the Funeral Home and the Church.
