ANNIE S. SANTERRE CHERRYFIELD – Annie S. Santerre, 83, passed peacefully Monday, June 25, 2007, at a Bangor health care facility with her family beside her. A lifelong resident of Cherryfield, she was born there March 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Preston and Mona (Willey) Schoppee. Mrs. Santerre attended and graduated from Cherryfield Academy. Annie worked as a seamstress out of her home and made clothes and quilts for many. She also made play costumes and uniforms for the athletic teams locally in Cherryfield. She worked for several fish packing companies especially Stinson’s for several years, transporting many to work. Annie ran a doll shop in Cherryfield, where she made Raggedy Anne dolls and clothes along with her husband who made wooden crafts. They traveled to craft shows across the area. She was married to Louis U. Santerre, who died 1985. Family members include her children, Louie A. Santerre and his wife, Jessie, of Cherryfield, Terrie Pinkham and husband, Perky, of Steuben, Ricky Santerre and wife, Arlene, of Cherryfield, Jan Santerre and companion, Clifford Norton, of Cherryfield, Scott Santerre and wife, Rose, of Cherryfield; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Flora Dow of Cherryfield; and a half brother, Sam Nankervis of Franklin; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Blanche Clark; a brother, Charles Schoppee; and an infant brother, Earl Schoppee. Graveside services will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Intervale Cemetery, Butler Road, Cherryfield, with Pastor Neil Wilson officiating. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
