ANSEL K. LAPOINTE MONSON – Ansel K. LaPointe, 80, died peacefully at his home in Monson, Jan. 9, 2004. He was born in Dexter, Dec. 7, 1923, the youngest son of Alfred and Annie (Dulac) LaPointe. Ansel was an Army veteran, serving his country during World War II. He was a former member of the America Legion in Monson, and served as Commander for two years. He worked at Moosehead Manufacturing until his retirement in 1985. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved fishing and hunting. He was a Boy Scout leader. He served 17 years as a volunteer fireman in Monson, and regularly donated blood whenever needed. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rachael (Jones) LaPointe of Monson; and their four children, Eleanor and her husband, Dale Farrar, of Morrill, Jere and his wife, Diana Krauss, of Brunswick, Michael and his wife, Arnette, of Sidney, and Timothy and his wife, Lori, of Michigan; four grandchildren, Brandi, Keith, Megan and Deidra LaPointe; two great-grandchildren, Kyra-Love St. Pierre and Cole LaPointe; a cousin, Angela Robertson of Arizona; and two nieces. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Sangerville, with the Rev. Father James Robichaud officiating. Spring burial will be held at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life, following the Mass, until evening, at his home in Monson. Ansel’s family wants to especially acknowledge and thank Community Health and Counseling Services and Hospice for making his last days with us so peaceful and in accordance with his wishes.
