EAST MILLINOCKET – Anthony H. “Tony” Chavarie, 57, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at his home. He was born Dec. 31, 1949, in Bangor, the son of Levi and Theresa (Michaud) Chavarie. Tony grew up in East Millinocket and was a graduate of Schenck High School, Class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Armed forces for several years, retiring from the Army National Guard. Tony had worked for the Paper Mill, East Millinocket for many years, and was still employed there at the time of his death. He is survived by his father, Levi Chavarie and his wife, Priscilla, of Winthrop; his mother, Theresa Chavarie of Augusta; three daughters, Kristen Brown and her husband, Shawn, of Hollis, Erin Ingalls and her husband, Charles, of Machias and Shannon Chavarie of Bangor; a grandson, Luke Ingalls of Machias; his twin sister, Terry Oakes and her husband, Dana, of Orono; a sister, Melodie Ahles and her husband, Andy, of Pittston; two brothers, Michael Chavarie and his wife, Stephanie, of Brewer and Kurt Chavarie of Ocean City, Md.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Tony will also be missed by special friends, Carol LeVasseur of Medway and Louise Tapley of Holden; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Vesta Osgood of Lee. He was predeceased by his wife, Jolane “Jo” Chavarie in 2000. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Bouchard – Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A memorial service will begin 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with military honors to be held after. Spring interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery, East Millinocket.
