CORINNA and DEXTER – Arlene E. Kenney, 79, went home to be with the Lord Jan. 7, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 22, 1927, in North Newport, a daughter of Donald and Mamie (Wentworth) Gray. She attended the Hubbard School, North Newport and went to Corinna Union Academy and Newport High School. On Aug. 7, 1948, she married Norman Kenney. She worked at Moosehead Woolen Mill, Snowflake Canning Co., Eastland Woolen Mill and Dexter Shoe Co., Dexter. Arlene enjoyed watching the birds at her feeders, especially humming birds. She enjoyed listening to country and gospel music and the old-time hymns. Arlene belonged to the Corinna Happy Hour Club for more than 50 years. She attended the Morses Corner Baptist Church, Corinna and Stetson Union Church. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Donald and wife, Anita, Norma and husband, Stan and Stewart and wife, Lesa; brothers, Ronald and wife, Kay and Clyde and wife, Theresa; sister, Gloria and husband, Norman; three grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Derek Fales, Jeremy and Jana Kenney; Arlene’s little dog, Cuddles; cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman; brothers, Robert, William and Stanley; her sister, Joyce; and a special son-in-law, Terrance Keaten. There will be no public visitation. A graveside funeral and committal service will be held at Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna, in the spring with the Rev. David Ray Sr. officiating. A celebration of life will be held in the near future at Stetson Union Church, at a time to be announced. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
