GUILFORD – Arlene E. Thompson, 86, wife of the late Leon H. Thompson, passed away May 16, 2005, at a Dexter nursing home after a long illness. She was born April 25, 1919, in Sangerville, the daughter of David and Doris (Garland) Thomas. She attended Sangerville schools. She lived in Florida for many years, moving back to Maine in 1992. She was predeceased by her husband Leon on Sept. 1, 1993. Arlene loved spending time with her family and was very special to all of them. Arlene is survived by a brother, Clyde Thomas of Guilford; and special friend, Sally Cowette of Guilford; three sisters-in-law, Norma Thomas of Guilford, Gladys Thomas of Florida, and Clara Somers of Prince Edward Island; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Dana; and three sisters, Frances, Eleanor, and Joan. She will be missed by all. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2005, at the family lot in Dover Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
