BREWER – Arline W. Foster, 87, died Aug. 2, 2004, at a Brewer healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 27, 1917, in Providence, R.I., the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Brooks) Foster. Arline worked for Bangor Box for 11 years, Eastern Maine General Hospital for two years, Robert Feeley, M.D. office for nine years, and the Bangor Daily News from 1964 until her retirement on April 1, 1990. She was a 50-year member of the Rebekah Vashti Lodge No. 35 Brewer/Orrington, 50-year member of the Tuscan Chapter No. 148 O.E.S. Bangor, a member of the Bangor Singles Club, member of the Over 50th Class Reunion Brewer High School Committee, and attended the First United Methodist Church of Brewer for more than 80 years. Surviving are two nephews Richard Gray and his wife, Priscilla, of Brewer, and William Klenk and his wife, Gwen, of Lakeland, Mich.; niece, Holly Roberts of Gladstone, Mo.; several great and great-great-nieces, nephews and many special friends. She was predeceased by four sisters, Maxine Gray, Pauline Klenk, Ruth Eaton and Florence Foster; nephew, Thomas England. The family would like to thank the staff at Brewer Rehab Reflections Unit for their loving care and compassion over the last three years. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Brookings-Smith Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Howard Benson, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments in the Brookings-Smith Reception Room, 55 South Main St., Brewer, immediately follow the service on Thursday. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Brewer.
