WINN – Arthur E. Nash Jr., 62, husband of Marie (Nichols) Nash, died Feb. 21, 2004, surrounded by his family, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 4, 1941, in Lincoln, the son of Arthur E. Nash Sr. and Madeline E. (Sibley) Nash. Arthur graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1959. He worked at the New Haven Railroad in Connecticut for several years. After returning to Maine, he managed the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Sanford. He then moved to Lincoln, where he owned a variety store and take out on the Lee Road, then he worked for Forster Manufacturing in Mattawamkeag. The job that was dearest to his heart was his time spent working for Miracle Ear fitting hearing aids. He loved the feeling of helping people to hear better. He loved animals and will be especially missed by his beloved little dog, Suzie. In addition to his wife, Marie of Winn, he is survived by three sons, Daniel McQuarrie of South Portland, Edward McQuarrie of Lewiston, and Jeffrey Nash and his wife, Sandra, of Gorham; four grandsons, Andrew and Evan Nash, Adam Nash and Devan McQuarrie; three stepchildren, Katherine Chasse, Gilbert Chasse and Kenneth Chasse, all of Connecticut; two stepgrandchildren, Kenneth Chasse Jr. and Jacob Chasse; three sisters, Christine Gary and her husband, Frank, of Mattawamkeag, Anne Cummings and her husband, Clarence, of Lincoln, and Tamora Burrell of North Yarmouth. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at the Mattawamkeag Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev. Steve McNally officiating.
