BRISTOL, Conn. – Arthur P. Paulette Sr., 73, of Bristol, Conn., died Friday night, Oct. 22, 2004, at the UConn Health Center, Farmington, Conn., surrounded by his loving family. Arthur was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Brewer to the late Clement and Marjorie (Sutton) Paulette and moved to Bristol, Conn. in 1959. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ruth (Daigle) Paulette of Bristol, Conn. he also leaves behind his 11 children, Diane and her husband, David Zettervall, of Colchester, Conn., Arthur P. Paulette Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Bristol, Conn., Karen Green and her husband, James, of Meriden, Conn., Nancy Macaro and her husband, Fred, of Bristol, Conn., Brian Paulette, and his wife, Susan, of Wallingford, Conn., Karl Paulette and his wife, Susanne, of Terryville, Conn., William Paulette, Jeffrey Paulette and his wife, Shirley, Ronald Paulette, Barbara Taylor and her husband, John, Janice Gorneault and her husband, Sylva, all of Bristol, Conn.; 21 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Hunter; three brothers, and three sisters. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Arthur worked for many years at Ray’s Auto Body, Bristol, Conn. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church. An active and dedicated volunteer with the youth of Bristol, Conn., he was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Hartford Courant’s state volunteer of the year and the National Boys Club of America Service Award for his 35 years of dedicated service to the youth of Bristol, Conn., where he was the coach of the Bristol Boys Club Junior Marksman rifle team. During this time he took an active role in promoting gun saftey and facilitated many hunting safety courses over the years. When his children were young, he was very active in many civic organizations, including being a scout master, PTO president, and Bristol Central sports booster club member. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox and Celtic fan, and avid woodworker and a master craftsman, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling with his family, especially to his home state of Maine. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Prospect United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
