KENDUSKEAG – Ashley L. “Bill” Bickmore Jr., 73, the husband of Eleanor (Allen) Bickmore, died Feb. 4, 2005, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born July 15, 1931, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Ashley and Ruth (Macklin) Bickmore Sr. He graduated from Suffield Academy, Suffield, Conn. And attended the U of M at Orono. He had been a former resident of Charleston, moving to Kenduskeag about eight years ago. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Glenburn Post, American Legion, the VFW and a life member of the Amvets. His lifelong hobby was training and driving race horses. Surviving in addition to his wife of Kenduskeag, are four sons, Mark and his wife, Kathy of Rochester, N.H., Brian and his wife, Suzanne, of Hermon, Eric and his friend, Ellie Grady, of Augusta and Randy and his friend, Michelle Maloney of Cumberland; a brother, George and his wife, Sandy, of Arizona; four grandchildren, Eric Ross, Breanna, Mathias and Claire Bickmore. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, at the Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth with the Rev. Thomas Lequin officiating.
