VAN BUREN – Aurore J. Chabre, 82, died June 28, 2007, at a Van Buren health care facility, after a long illness. She was born June 5, 1925, in Cyr Plantation, the daughter of Bruno and Anne (Madore) Gagnon. She is survived by three sons, Ronald Chabre and his wife, Cindy, of Windsor Locks, Conn., Normand Chabre Jr. and his wife, Maureen, of Middletown, Conn., and Mark Chabre and his wife, April, of Van Buren; three daughters, Nancy Martin and her husband, Maxim, of Eagle Lake, Francine Malloy of Suffield, Conn., and Linda Cashman and her husband, Robert, of Van Buren; one brother, Roger Gagnon of Bangor; five sisters, Agathe Chabre of Van Buren, Velma Castonguay of Cyr Plantation, Claire Labrecque of Windsor Locks, Conn., Omerine Gendreau, and Adrienne Brumbaum, both of East Hartford, Conn.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Normand Chabre Sr., in 1991; and by an infant daughter, Marie Arline Chabre, in 1947. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. Monday until time of service at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery.
