PRESQUE ISLE – Autice W. Hanson, 90, died Sunday evening, Jan. 1, 2006, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born one of eight children, June 11, 1915, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (McClean) Wilder. She was born and lived on the same street, most of her life. Autice taught school for 33 years in the Presque Isle school system. She was an avid reader, enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzle and was a member of the Presque Isle Garden Club and St. John’s Episcopal Church. She was married to Charles E. Hanson Sr. for 57 years. She is survived by a son, Charles E. Hanson Jr. and his wife, Arlene, of Cupertino, Calif.; a daughter, Martha H. LaPointe and her husband, Ralph, of Presque Isle; four grandchildren, Eric and Denise Hanson of Whitefish, Mont., Carroll “CJ” LaPointe of Presque Isle and his special friend, Shane Cooper and Mary LaPointe Richardson and her husband, Baron, of Chester, N.H.; two great-grand-daughters, Claire Richardson and Alexis Michaud; two brothers, Arthur Wilder of Spokane, Wash. and Willard Wilder of Jupiter, Fla. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 1998; two sisters, Marjorie Turner and Jean Wilder; three brothers, John, Isaac and Daniel Wilder. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Robert Smith, officiating. Spring interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Mark and Emily Turner Library, 39 Second St., Presque Isle, ME 04769 or to a charity of one’s choice.
