PRINCETON – Avis I. Phelps, 75, passed away Oct. 29, 2005, at her home. She was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Calais. She enjoyed reading books and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Kevin and his fiance, Renee, of Princeton; two brothers, Freddy and “Brother Kenny”; two grandsons, Ryan and Joshua; a special mother-in-law, Virginia Phelps; brother-in-law, Lee and wife, Margaret; sister-in-law, Helen; and sister-in-law, Margaret; several nieces, nephews and cousins; also a good friend, Wanda. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; and one sister, Janice. A graveside memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Waite-Talmadge Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Smith officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the Peabody Estates in Princeton. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
