YARMOUTH – Barbara (Briggs) Stockton of Brentwood Manor, Yarmouth, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005. She was the daughter of Charlene (Thompson) and Parkin Briggs, formerly of Caribou. Born 1936 in Caribou, Barbara graduated from Caribou High School, then attended Bradford Junior College and graduated from Westbrook Junior College. She attended Boston University. She met her husband while training in meteorology with the WAVES. They lived in Fairfax, Va., until his death. Predeceased by her husband, Norman Stockton, she is survived by their son, Judson; four granddaughters; and two sisters, Betty Hamilton of Orono, and Jane Rankin of Warwick, R.I. Visiting hours will be held 1-2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27 at Hay & Peabody Funeral Home, 749 Congress St., Portland. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements are by Hay & Peabody Funeral Home, 749 Congress St., Portland.
