LINCOLN – Barbara Whitney Crawford, 80, passed away July 22, 2005, at a Bangor nursing facility, after a long illness. She was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Chester, the daughter of Reuben and Gladys (Davis) Savage. Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and she will be sadly missed by all. Barbara retired from Clay-Lovett GMC in Lincoln Center several years ago. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and she volunteered for several organizations, including Silver Spoons, Penobscot Valley Hospital, Rebekah Assembly of Maine, and Abnaki Girl Scout Council. Barbara is survived by her husband of three years, James Crawford of Hancock; and her four children, Janice Wilson and her husband, Malvern, of Hancock, Peter Whitney and his wife, Brenda, of Augusta, Joleen Jordan and her husband, Jeff, of Lincoln, and Kevin Whitney and his wife, Margo, of Lake Placid, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Pamela Jordan and her husband, Trevor, of Lincoln, Janelle Greenleaf of Waltham, Marsha Rolle and her husband, Steve, of Seattle, Wash., Anita Whitney of New Bedford, Mass., Eric Whitney and his wife, Debbie, of Danvers, Mass., Jewell Brown and her husband, Eric, of Ellsworth, Jarrod Jordan and his wife, Jessica, of Winn, Jill Moore and her husband, Brian, of Wiscassett, Jennifer Vachon and her husband, Tom, of Chester, Melissa Whitney of Sebring, Fla., and Felicia Whitney of Lake Placid, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Victoria and Lucas Jordan of Lincoln, Garrett Brown of Ellsworth, Colton and Connor Jordan of Winn, Ava Moore of Wiscassett and Tommy Vachon of Chester. Barbara was predeceased by her first husband of 39 years, Roscoe “Buddy” Whitney; brothers, Roy Savage, Rodney Savage, Robert Savage, Dennis Savage and Elwood Savage; sisters, Gertrude Jordan, Charlotte Coburn, Elizabeth Haskell, and Dorice Gray. Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2005, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev.
