DEXTER – Bayne L. Martin, 60, died May 18, 2004, at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 16, 1944, in Hartland, the son of the late Clyde and Corinne Martin. He graduated from Hartland Academy and then entered the Army, where he became an X-ray Technician. He served at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington D.C. He was employed as an X-ray Technician at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, Plummer Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield, Charles Dean Hospital in Greenville, and Castine Hospital. Bayne loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and playing cribbage with his good friends Edward Bemis, Junior, and Larry Davis. He is survived by his beloved former wife and dear friend, Roxanne Martin of Bangor; and his devoted daughter, Nicole and her husband, Patric Brayson, of Exeter. He loved and cherished his four grandchildren, Patric II, Kathryn, Kayla and Kyle. He is also survived by one sister, Ann Duncan Provost of Dexter; three brothers, Roger Martin and wife, Sharlene, of Hartland, Richard Martin and wife, Martha, of Marshfield, Mass., and Albert Duncan Jr. and wife, Connie, of Washington D.C. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many special friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Martin Clukey. He was a member of the United Baptist Church in Corinth, where he was recently baptized by Pastor Kirk Mellen. He is in the Lord’s hands now. He will sadly be missed by family, friends and all those who had the honor of working with him. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004, at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Hartland, officiated by Pastor Kirk Mellen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maine Veteran’s Home, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements are under the care of Donald H.
