BREWER and HOLDEN Beatrice “Bea” (Hormel) Booker, 88, wife of the late Ivan R. Booker, who passed away Feb. 3, 2008, died May 24, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at her Bangor home. She was born March 11, 1920, in Medford, Mass., the youngest child of the late Henry and May (Colby) Hormel. She was very devoted to her family and was well known in the Brewer and Holden communities for her friendly smile, warmth and sharp wit. Bea is survived by her son, Richard and his wife, Karin, of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter-in-law, Elaine Booker of Rockport; her son, Robert and his wife, Tanya, of Swarthmore, Pa.; daughter, Nancy and her husband, Christopher Limberis, of Bangor; 10 grandchildren, Rian Booker, Cara Booker, Shelby Mahan, Josh Booker, Meaghan Booker, Brooke Haas, Ethan Booker, Lisa Butler, Sarah Cullen and Katie Limberis; 11 great-grandchildren, with two on the way; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Bruce and Jon; two brothers and two sisters. The family wishes to thank Carol, Sherry, Valerie, Carol-Ann and the staff of New Hope Hospice for their loving care in her final days. A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Dana Douglass, pastor of Holden Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be immediately after at Harts Corner Cemetery, Holden. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Brookings-Smith Family Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer, after the interment.
