PRESQUE ISLE – Beatrice M. Plourde, 67, wife of the late Joseph Plourde, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, Oct. 9, 2005 at the home of her daughter, Dana Michaud in Levant surrounded by her loving children, after an extend illness. She was born Sept. 28, 1938, at Allagash, the daughter of Samuel and Addie (Pelletier) Hafford. Beatrice attended local schools and was a resident of Presque Isle for many years. She was a published poet and accomplished artist whose legacy was love and she maintained an amazing sense of humor up until the end of her life. In addition to her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Plourde Jan. 4, 2004; stepmother, Ida (McKinnon) Hafford; three brothers, Roy, Clarence and Elbert Hafford. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence and Tanya Hafford of Virginia, Phillip and Wanda Hafford of Bradley, Douglas and Paula Hafford of Eddington, John and Jessica Hafford of Millinocket; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Steven Hogue of Perham, Tammie Hafford-Robbins and her husband, Tod Robbins of Hawaii, Dana and Peter Michaud of Levant; four brothers, Thomas Hafford and his wife, Grace, of Houlton, Donald Hafford of Waterville, Gary Hafford and his wife, Debbie, of Presque Isle, Terry Hafford of Florida; 18 grandchildren; five great-grand-children; numerous nieces and nephews, including one very dear nephew, Tommy Hafford of Massachusetts. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the United Pentecostal Church, 37 Currier St., Fort Fairfield, where a funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Vincent officiating. A time of fellowship will be held at the United Pentecostal Church reception area immediately following the funeral service. The family of Mrs. Plourde extends their sincere gratitude to New Hope Hospice for their help in making Beatrice’s passing peaceful. Arrangements are in the care of the Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
