ELLSWORTH and MEDWAY – Belva Millicent (Osnoe) Scott, 81, wife of the late Albert E. Scott, died Jan. 2, 2005, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 23, 1923, in Sherman, the daughter of Eugene B. and Helen Morgan Osnoe. Belva attended schools in Sherman and East Millinocket before marrying Albert E. Dec. 31, 1940, at Wytopitlock. She worked as a cook for a number of years for the Medway School Department. She was a very lucky avid Bingo player, going at least four times a week. A special thank you to the ladies (Claris, Sheila, Laurie and Marcia) that made her feel welcome to the Ellsworth area. She was a member of the American Legion Post 63 of Ellsworth, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 22 of Medway. She is survived by her sons, Albert and Pauline Scott of Ellsworth, Rodney Scott and Cerise Montgomery and Wayne and Carla Scott both of Medway; 12 grandchildren; twelve and a half great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Elaine Scott of Acadia, Florida; a sister, Glenda Campbell of East Millinocket; sisters-in-law, Lula Osnoe of East Millinocket, Arlene Crooker of South Carolina; brothers-in-law, Ralph Scott of Clinton, and Theodore Scott of Florida. She was predeceased by her husband Albert E. in 1998; and a son, Eugene E. Scott in 2004; five brothers, Virgil, Carroll, Leonard, Merton, Joe; two sisters, Beatrice and Margaret. Visiting hours will be held from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Interment will take place in the spring. Contributions in Belva’s memory may be made to the American Legion Post 63, 1134 Bangor Road, Ellsworth, ME 04605 or to the charity of one’s choice.
