BANCROFT – Bertha Mary (Agnew) Potter, 102, wife of the late Alvin Ira Potter, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Dec. 27, 2003, at a Houlton healthcare facility. She was born March 27, 1901, in Harcourt, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Mushero) Agnew. Bertha worked as a housekeeper for many years. She was a member of the Wytopitlock Baptist Church and was a very active member of her church. She was also an active member of the Danforth Senior Citizens. She is survived by a daughter, Elva Gray of Jay; two sons and their wives, Calvin and Florence Potter of Wytopitlock, and Leland and Mavis Potter of Danforth; a brother, Elswood Lee of Danforth; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Alvin, she was predeceased by a daughter, Hazel Rollins. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Rd., Danforth. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Wytopitlock Baptist Church, with the Rev. Duane Waite officiating. Interment will be in Wytopitlock Cemetery.
