MACHIAS – Beryl F. Davis, 91, passed peacefully away April 3, 2008, at Marshall Health Care Facility, Machias. She was born March 5, 1917, in Machias, the daughter of the late Millard E. Davis Sr. and Mildred (Johnson) Davis. Beryl was a graduate of Machias High School. She also went to beautician school in Portland. Beryl worked in the fish factory in Machiasport for many years before going to work as a dietitian at Down East Community Hospital, where she eventually retired from. In between working all of those years, she helped take care of her nieces, nephews, mother and father, which kept her very busy. Beryl was a second mother to many of those nieces and nephews and they all called her “Aunt Frayne.” Beryl was an active member of Eastern Star and Community of Christ Church. Beryl was predeceased by her siblings, Geneva (Davis) Kennison, Grover Davis, Quentin and Marie (Davis) Sanborn; and two nephews, Gregory Grange and Peter Grange. She is survived by one brother, Millard E. Davis Jr. and his wife, Evelyn, of Kennebec; sister-in-law, Bette Davis; many nieces and nephews. She will be missed deeply by all that knew her. We love you Aunt Frayne and want to thank you for all the good memories that you have left us with. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. April 19 at Community of Christ Church, Machias.
