LINNEUS – Betty Batchelder, 77, died Feb. 16, 2008, at her home with her family at her side. She was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Houlton, the daughter of Frederick and Eva (Sewall) Sewall. She is survived by two daughters, Linda and her husband, Gary Sawyer, of Linneus and Connie and her husband, Michael McCormick, of Unity; six grandchildren, Heather Sewall, Melissa Sawyer, Leslie Sawyer and April Barnes, Betsy Sawyer and Joe Buzzio, Jennifer Sewall and Emily McCormick; 10 great-grandchildren, Shanisha, Alex, Dakota, Emma, Samuel, Hailey, Joey, Shelby, Nicholas and Ethan; one stepgranddaughter, Vicki Sprague and her husband, Terry, and their children, Duska McGuire and Josh and his wife, Heather Way, and their son, Joshua; one sister, Shirley Hall of New Hampshire; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two special nephews, Delmar and James Clark. She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, LeRoy and Elwood Sewall and Monty Clark; and three sisters, Minnie Tomah, Mabel McNutt and Alice McGlynn. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Thursday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Straubel officiating.
