STETSON – Betty J. Pannella, 72, died March 20, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of Augustine A. and Madeline H. (Morrison) Desjardins. She grew up in Old Town, attended Old Town schools and was a graduate of Old Town High School. Betty was a homemaker and loving mother. She loved life and most of all she loved her family. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Pittsfield. Betty loved to get together with her many friends and play Bridge. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Robert Trainer; and by her second husband, Joseph A. Pannella. Betty is survived by five sons and their wives, Carl and Laura Trainer of Gotha, Fla., Michael and Mary Ellen Trainer of Presque Isle, James and Julie Trainer of Olympia, Wash., Michael and Ellen Pannella of Leland Ill., James and Karen Pannella of Annapolis, Md.; three daughters and their husbands, Lee Ann and James Shawley of Stetson, Lisa and Scott Nelson of Natick, Mass., Teresa and Gino Mailhot of Manchester N.H.; two brothers, Richard Desjardins of Sandia Park, N.M., Phillip Ouellette of Old Town; three sisters, Nancy Lobley of Bradley, Lynn Madden of Milford, Pamela Hathaway of Manassas, Va.; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Detroit Avenue, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Father Emmanuel Iheaka officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004, at the St. Stephens Cemetery, Framingham, Mass.
